UNICEF: Tap Project

  • Launched in 2007, the UNICEF Tap Project was conceived to raise awareness of the global water crisis and generate support for solutions to correct it. Through partnerships with various corporations, restaurants and celebrities, the UNICEF Tap Project asked diners to donate just $1 for the tap water they usually drink for free—because for every $1 raised, a child in need can receive up to 40 days of clean drinking water. In 2013, the program’s seventh year, the Tap Project transformed into an online program to facilitate greater scale and the potential for friends to share the program with each other.
